Client - Any rox client, e.g., roxrun, can be used for chatting and transferring files. The client needs to be setup with the Server as a relay. Server - Only one (provider) roxCompinstance can be setup. The instance acts as the server. It will relay chat messages and transfer files to the other clients. The above part was already covered in other question. So I will focus my answer to a single problem- the clients can be on different sites, separated by time. When we type a message and send it, the message appears on the site we are typing on, but what about if we are on site A, and we read the message in site B and post the message? I think, the answer is- we send to the server on site B, which then relays it to the server on site A, which then relays it back to us. Basically what we need is a way to relay any messages between client and server. Is there any such functionality in roxCom? Is there any way around this? A: "The servers relay the messages for you" Does that mean they handle the sending of the message to a previous instance of the server so that the other instance of the server receives the message? If that's the case then the "Multi-user Chat" is the closest thing I can find in the roxCom version you are using (22.214.171.124): In that case the chat is handled by a "Chat Input Service", which handles three functions: GetStringFromBuffer(), ParseString() and PrintString() Then as I understand it, the server is the relay. The issue you describe comes from the fact that you use "Server" to relay the message, which is probably not what you actually want. If you really want to have the servers relay messages for you, that cannot be handled in the "Server" protocol because it is not protocol-oriented. I recommend that you use "Message Service" if you want to relay message between instances, and "Log Service" if you want to have logs and messages.
